The Open Space Council invites you and your immediate household/family to join us for Operation Clean Stream from August 15 – 23 in the Meramec River Watershed. This year Operation Clean Stream has been modified to prioritize the health and safety of volunteers. In response to COVID-19, there will be no group cleanups or picnics this year.
We invite you and your immediate household/family to register for a site of your choice and then conduct a self-guided cleanup any day during the 9 day period from August 15 – 23 to help to improve local rivers and open spaces. This year, more than ever, we are thankful and proud to be celebrating 53 years of river stewardship!
Registration has now ended. We have a limited number of volunteer spots still available at several locations – if you would like to volunteer at one of these sites please email email@example.com. Locations available are: Meramec State Park, Fox Creek (Wildwood Access and Eureka Access), and Hamilton-Carr Creek. If you have your own boat, we have many river sections we can recommend. Please reach out to us and we will work with you to find a good section for you and your family to clean up.
Registration for Ozark Outdoors is ongoing. Please select the Ozark Outdoors ticket at ocs2020.eventbrite.com. Volunteers MUST call Ozark Outdoors in Leasburg at (573) 245-6837 to schedule your cleanup and reserve your free canoe. You must let Ozark Outdoors know you are with Operation Clean Stream when you make your reservation in order to receive a free canoe. Canoes are free every day of the week but Saturday.
This year, we have implemented additional specific COVID-19 safety practices. All volunteers should wear masks and gloves while participating in the event. All volunteers should maintain social distancing from non-household members during their cleanup. You can find a complete list of all of our COVID-19 safety practices here www.openspacestl.org/ocs
