April 25th – Have a kayak?
Earth Day Forest Park Stream Cleanup
This event will be done in conjunction with the St. Louis Canoe and Kayak Club and Forest Park on April 25,2015. This will be a once a year opportunity to paddle the stream that runs end to end thru Forest Park. We will be the “on the water” cleanup in preparation for Earth Day (which is the next day).
We will meet at 8:30 at the parking lot in front of the Visitor Center administration building. Look for all the kayaks and trailer. We will split into two groups and shuttle to each end of the stream, cleaning up debris, trash, golf balls, fishing gear and prized possessions, etc. until we meet back in the middle by the Muny about noon.
You must bring your own kayak; smaller boats are preferable. We will do some light portaging. PFDs are mandatory. Bring water and a snack. Afterwards, some volunteers will grab lunch afterward in the neighborhood, feel free to join. We will provide bags, tongs and gloves.
RSVP required. To RSVP, by calling Bob Jung at 314-494-8432.
