Operation Clean Stream will take place on August 27th & 28th, 2022!
Join us on August 27th, 2021, for Missouri’s most extensive and longest-running river and watershed clean-up project. We celebrate 55 years of improving local rivers and open spaces this year! There will be group clean-up options throughout the Meramec River and its watershed. Volunteers can sign up and participate in group clean-ups at the location near them or a recreation area that is close to their heart. In addition, all volunteers are welcome to come to our picnic at GreenTree Park after your clean-ups. Bring your family for lunch and refreshments. It’s also an opportunity to enjoy the company of fellow volunteers and expert trip leaders.
Sites are still being added, so check back for updates or, better yet, sign up to “Get Connected” to The Open Space Council and receive email or text notifications when new locations are updated. We are excited to be able to offer better service through this portal to our volunteers. You simply create an account, and you can track your hours for work, school, or community service, stay up to date on opportunities to participate in clean-ups like #OperationCleanStream, and so much more.

We are also hosting our 1st Operation Clean Stream Trip Leader meeting on July 21st, and we look forward to seeing everyone. We are currently seeking trip leaders for several sites and groups, and organizations interested in volunteering.

**We work directly with schools, youth groups, scout troops, businesses, and religious organizations. If you or someone you know is interested in leading or participating in a group clean-up, please email Program Manager Andrew Clubb at andrew@openspacestl.org.

You can also check out our new “Get Connected” volunteer portal and create a profile by clicking the link below.
If you have questions about signing up or making a volunteer profile, we are here to help. If you need any assistance or have questions about this year’s Operation Clean Stream event, please email andrew@openspacestl.org or call (314)835-9225.

Over the last several years, we have seen how essential parks, open spaces, and the natural environment impact our communities’ health and well-being. So we thank you for helping to keep them beautiful and clean! If you cannot volunteer, you can still support Operation Clean Stream and the Open Space Council by becoming a sponsor or member. Sponsorships come with perks like a personalized clean-up experience for you and your team!

If your business is interested in sponsoring Operation Clean Stream or organizing a group clean-up, don’t hesitate to get in touch with bonnie@openspacestl.org.

Special thanks to our partners Great Rivers GreenwayMetropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, Missouri Stream Teams, Meramec River Recreation Association, Bayer, Missouri American Water, all of our members, and many more for supporting this year’s event!

See you on the river!
