Letter from the President: Farewell & Thank You to Kat Dockery
I am writing to share the news that Katherine “Kat” Dockery has recently stepped down from her position as Executive Director of the Open Space Council. Kat played a critical role in the development and success of the organization over the last ten years, and we wish her the best of luck as she leaves to pursue a new opportunity serving on St. Louis County Executive’s team. The St. Louis region and our environment are richer for her dedication and expertise; we are extremely grateful for her service.
“Working for the Open Space Council has been an absolute honor,” said Kat. “The Open Space Council plays a critical role defending parks, restoring waterways and protecting key landscapes in the St. Louis Region. While I am looking forward to this next chapter in my career, I will miss working alongside the dedicated volunteers and passionate partners. I have full confidence that this organization will continue to be a leader on conservation efforts for another fifty years.”
The members of the Board of Directors are dedicated to ensuring a smooth transition. During this time, board members will temporarily oversee management and provide guidance to the organization. An executive search is underway and we encourage you to share the job posting with those who may be interested.
Again, we cannot thank Kat enough for the dedication, professionalism and enthusiasm she has given to support our mission to conserve and preserve land and water resources. She will be greatly missed by the staff, board and volunteers.
If you have any questions or concerns during this transition process, please email me at cuddebackkimberly@att.net
Sincerely,
Kimberly Cuddeback
President of the Board
