Thank you for a great Operation Clean Stream!
Thank you to everyone who volunteered for this year’s Operation Clean Stream event! Your work helped remove trash, tires and flood debris from the Meramec Watershed.
In total, 538 volunteers reported participating in the event over the course of 9 days in August. Volunteers removed 142 cubic yards of trash, 1,735 tires, and 2,982 lbs of metal from the Meramec River Watershed this year. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Operation Clean Stream 2020 was conducted from August 15 – 23, and volunteers participated in the event by doing a self-guided cleanup at their chosen location with members of their household. This year’s figures were compiled from waste hauling invoices and reports from individual household volunteers to document their individual cleanup efforts. Due to this year’s circumstances, there is much more variance in the accuracy of these individual reports.

Due to COVID-19 we conducted the event differently than in years past. We would love to have your feedback on this new format to help inform future events. Fill out the form here!
