St. Louis 2020 City Nature Challenge is April 24 – 27

The St. Louis City Nature Challenge is April 24th – 27th! This event invites all community members to engage in biodiversity observations right in their own neighborhoods and backyards. 

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Challenge this year will no longer be a competition and participants should follow all federal and local recommendations when exploring the outdoors to keep everyone safe and healthy. Participants are encouraged to explore and document the living things that surround them in and around their homes. 

To Participate: 

1. Download the iNaturalist app to your phone or tablet.
2. Click “going” on the 2020 St. Louis City Nature Challenge 2020 Facebook event here. 
3. Get out April 24-27 and make observations of living things in your neighborhood!

When taking the appropriate precautions and practicing social distancing, the City Nature Challenge can be an eye-opening and amazing way to engage with nature this April! 

The City Nature Challenge is an international event which originated as a project of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and California Academy of Sciences. Now, it spans cities across the globe, including St. Louis! Locally the St. Louis City Nature Challenge is organized by the BiodiverseCity Initiative.
