Annual Forest Park Waterway Trash Cleanup

April 18th, 2020

April 18: Forest Park Waterway Trash Cleanup

*This event has been postponed: In the interest of public health, we will be postponing this event to a later date. We thank you for your interest in volunteering and your support! We hope to announce a rescheduled date in the near future. Stay safe and healthy!*

Join the Open Space Council and the St. Louis Canoe & Kayak Club for our annual Earth Day Waterway Cleanup in Forest Park! Removing trash and debris from the waterways within the park improves water quality and wildlife habitat as well as enhances the recreational experience for park users. Forest Park in St. Louis City is the seventh largest urban park in the United States and is an important space for visitors to the park to reconnect with nature within the urban city environment.

Volunteers should have some experience paddling and bring their own kayak. Please note that smaller boats, not canoes, are required to navigate the smaller waterways during this cleanup. Volunteers should come dressed to get wet and bring a filled, reusable water bottle. Trash bags & gloves will be provided.
