Volunteers Keep Forest Park Waterways Clean
The Open Space Council and the St. Louis Canoe & Kayak Club held their annual waterway cleanup in Forest Park on Saturday April 14th. Volunteers took to the water in two parts of the park to recover debris and trash that would have been too difficult to remove without the assistance of a boat. The chilly spring weather didn’t deter the 11 volunteers who covered the two major waterways in Forest Park near the Muny and the waterfalls. In addition to collecting litter for proper disposal, the volunteers gathered up an entire trash bag of used golf balls which will be donated to the kids’ program at the Forest Park golf course. Thanks to everyone who came out to keep the waterways clean!
