Celebrating Operation Clean Stream 50
St. Louis is a town that loves bumper stickers. And Operation Clean Stream participants are especially fond of their annual event bumper sticker. As part of our celebration of the 50th anniversary of Operation Clean Stream, we thought it would be fun to take a trip back in time and peruse some of our bumper stickers from throughout the years.
1970s-1980s: Early bumper stickers reflected the style of the times through font and color choices.
1990s: Early 1990s designs are reminiscent of laser backgrounds in school photos while mid-late 1990s designs focus on nature and radiating waves.
2000s: The 2000s concentrated on a consistent design and message of Keeping Our Rivers Clean.
2010s: The current decade has showcased a more diverse collection of color and design styles.
After so many years of Operation Clean Stream, it’s no surprise that we’ve had such a wide variety of artwork. What is your favorite Operation Clean Stream bumper sticker? And what would you design to commemorate our 50th year of river restoration?
