Willow Harvesting & Staking

We are looking forward to an exciting upcoming volunteer workday to harvest & plant willow stakes at Lower Meramec Park on the morning of March 5th.

To sign up for the event on March 5th, follow this link.

Attendees can also learn about an exciting opportunity to join the stewardship team at Lower Meramec Park as part of the Community Stewardship Alliance program.

We highly recommend volunteers come dressed to get wet and muddy. It’s a dirty job but well worth the work to protect our precious habitats. Volunteers should dress for the weather and wear closed-toe waterproof boots.

Please bring a filled water bottle to the event. In addition, work gloves and some tools will be provided.

Special thanks to our partners Forest ReLeafGreat Rivers Greenway District, Missouri Botanical Garden, Missouri Department of Conservation, Missouri Master Naturalists Great Rivers Chapter, the Robert J. Trulaske, Jr. Family Foundation, St. Louis Audubon SocietySt. Louis County Parks, the St. Louis County Parks Foundation, and Open Space Council members for their support!
