Volunteers Clean Up Young Conservation Area

In March 2020, the Open Space Council helped conserve a 70 acre addition to the Young Conservation Area in LaBarque Creek. To prepare the addition to be open for public use, volunteers came out for a special cleanup at the site on Saturday March 27, 2021. There was lots of debris to be found and removed. Volunteers removed over 40 cubic yards of trash (17,100lbs), 65 passenger tires, 1 farm truck tire, and 5,740 lbs of scrap metal from the area.

Special thanks to the David Risberg Memorial Grant, Missouri Department of Conservation, Missouri Stream Teams and Open Space Council members for supporting this event!
