SOLD OUT! April 20th: Forest Park Waterway Cleanup
We are excited to announce this cleanup has sold out!
Join the Open Space Council and the St. Louis Canoe & Kayak Club for our annual Earth Day Waterway Cleanup in Forest Park. Volunteers will paddle through the waterways within the park collecting trash and debris. Removing trash and debris from the waterways within the park improves water quality and wildlife habitat as well as enhances the recreational experience for park users. Forest Park in St. Louis City is the seventh largest urban park in the United States and is an important space for visitors to the park to reconnect with nature within the urban city environment!
Volunteers should have some experience paddling and bring their own kayak if possible. Please let us know if you need to borrow a boat, or if you are able to provide your own (please note that smaller boats, not canoes, are required to navigate the smaller waterways.)
Volunteers should come dressed to get wet and bring a filled, reusable water bottle. Trash bags & gloves will be provided.
Register for the cleanup and reach out to caitlin@openspacestl.org or 314-835-9225 with any questions!
