Discussion

In partnership with St. Louis County Parks and the Missouri Department of Conservation, and the Nature Conservancy, volunteers from the Open Space Council planted 4,275 oak, hickory and native Missouri woodland tree seedlings in Queeny Park. This Operation Wild Lands project was part of an ongoing effort to restore native Missouri forest habitats and to re-vegetate riparian buffers along waterways that drain into the Meramec. By doing this, we insure higher quality streams for plants, animals and other area wildlife. This project was sponsored by Boeing Corporation.
